There are many people who thinks that mentalists are those people who can perform card tricks and play little mind tricks with people. Whereas these are simple tricks which people can learn easily and figure out how they are tricked. But in the case of mentalism it is totally different people learn and practice in proper way and with lot of time and concentrations to perform such techniques. It is not possible that those people who perform these card tricks and mind trick are not mentalists then can one but it depends in what kind of field they are specialized. These types of techniques are usually performed by those who have specialized in the magic which is somehow related to mentalism. 

How one can be a mentalist is by getting to the level where one can see into the peoples mind. This is only possible by concentrating on the people thoughts and their body actions. After that try guessing what they will do if you make the right prediction then you have reached to the right direction if you can then you still need to work hard because you don’t want to be performing any trick in public and doing it wrong which results in embarrassment.
